10 Snippets of the Dating world of Seniors

Usually, I found if I invited a man for a tea or coffee  at Tim Horton's, he would usually accept.

One guy told me he would meet me if I could pick him up. I called him the "Jail Guy".

He said he didn't have a car at present, so I thought --Oh what the heck? Why not?

So I drove to his address and he jumped into my car.  He seemed nice enough and he talked

a lot.  It was just after 2pm in the afternoon. We got to the place and ordered.  He kept checking

his watch, so I was thinking he must want to leave.  So I asked him "are you late for something

or did he just want to go".  He said "Oh, I am fine , I just need to not go passed my curfew."

To which of course, I asked "Your curfew?"  He went on to explain, it wasn't his fault but he was

on a day pass from jail. He had been wrongly accused of something and he was trying to make a

new start.  He had to be back to the house by 5pm so he would be ready to be  taken back by bus to

the jail.  Well, I can tell you, he didn't miss that bus and he never saw me again. I didn't want to

know what he was sent to jail for, I was too scared to ask.

A very nice man, I met I called "the one armed Guy". We had talked on the phone prior to meeting

at a Chinese Cafe.  I was looking forward to meeting him and having dinner.  I walked into the cafe

and two guys were sitting at separate tables. Honestly, I couldn't remember what his photo looked

like.  So I said his name. One guy said "not me, honey but I can be who ever you want me to be."

The other guy was hunched over talking on his cell phone and he waved me over.

His left hand was holding his phone, to which he put it on his right shoulder and bent his head to hold

it in place. Then stuck out his left hand to shake my hand. That's when I realized, there was no right

hand as there was no right arm.  I tried to act like I wasn't surprised.  He just started telling me all

about his long distance truck driving job to British Columbia, how he fell asleep at the wheel and went

over the mountain.  Then he stood up and showed me how his body was not quite  right.

OMG, I felt so bad. He walked very awkwardly, his stomach was grossly extended and his hips

didn't work together. He said he needed to use the bathroom and he was gone a long time. When he

returned, he said "Oh, you're still here."  "Was I suppose to leave?" I asked.  He said all his dates left

once they saw him.  Long story short, we had a comfortable lunch, and I thanked him,   His left hand

gripped my hand and he didn't want to let me go.  He started to tear up. I tried to tell him there was

someone out there for both of us but that we were not a match.  I felt awful.  Another bites the dust !!

Let's not give up hope.   Once again my Kids said "Found our new Daddy yet."  That would be "NO."
